James Clay

James Clay, F.I.I.C., FRM, ICD.D is the CEO of J.T. Insurance Services (Canada), Inc. Mr. Clay is responsible for servicing the firm’s major property and casualty accounts and is based in Vancouver.

James entered the insurance industry in 1991 from a large international bank and joined the firm as a surety trainee and accountant for the brokerage. He has extensive experience in a variety of industries including large construction, mining and property accounts.

He regularly advises clients on risk management issues and has drafted manuscript wordings for several large corporations operating within North America. Mr. Clay also has acted as an expert witness on several court cases across Canada.

Mr. Clay has lectured and authored publications to Risk Managers, Lawyers, Associations, and Property Management groups on topics of interest in insurance including new emerging insurance exposures.

James has considerable experience in risk management and holds a Fellowship in Risk Management – a prestigious global designation. He is also a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada in addition to his undergraduate degrees and is fully licenced under the Real Estate Services Act in British Columbia.

In addition, he is a past Director of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, Past Director of St. George’s School and was President of the Old Boys’ Association, Past Chairman of the Pacific Club and Past Director of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise.
